Dr. Aaron

Dr. Aaron was born in Seattle and raised in Auburn, graduating from Auburn Senior High School. While completing his undergraduate degree in Zoology at BYU Dr. Aaron met and married his sweetheart, Melody. After graduation they moved to California where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University. While in dental school Dr. Aaron was elected by his peers in dental schools across the United States to serve as the national Speaker of the House for the American Student Dental Association. After completing his initial eight years of undergraduate and dental education he completed a rigorous three year orthodontic residency at his father’s & brother’s alma mater, UCLA, where he served as chief resident of the orthodontic program.

While completing his hospital residency Dr. Aaron concurrently earned a Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology from UCLA. His Masters research focused on using 3-D x-rays to improve the treatment of patients with cleft palates. To this day Dr. Aaron still enjoys working with cleft palate and craniofacial patients.

Dr. Aaron is an internationally recognized expert on the subject of 3-D x-rays and technology integration. He has given over 150 lectures on the subjects to fellow orthodontists around the world.  Dr. Aaron has also written several textbook chapters and published several peer-reviewed articles on the topics. In fact, one of his journal articles on 3-D x-rays is required reading for students preparing to take their written orthodontic board exams. Dr. Aaron serves on the Technology Editorial Board for the premier journal in orthodontics, the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. As a sought after speaker Dr. Aaron has lectured at nearly every annual meeting of the American Association of Orthodontists and nearly every annual meeting of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists since completing his residency.

Dr. Aaron is also a member of several international invitation-only orthodontic study clubs. Along with Dr. Rick he is one of less than half-a-dozen orthodontists in the United States that hold concurrent memberships in the prestigious Schulman Study Group, Pitts Progressive Study Club, and The Progressive Orthodontist’s elite Fully Engaged group. Since these groups are invitation-only, peer-vetted, and geographically exclusive it is a monumental accomplishment to be invited to maintain memberships, and actively participate, in all three groups. This accomplishment reflects the Molens’ highly regarded reputation within the orthodontic community as thought leaders and innovators.

Dr. Aaron is a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, the Seattle-King County Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Washington State Society of Orthodontists, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.

Dr. Aaron currently lives in the Lakeland Hills – Lake Tapps – Bonney Lake area with his wonderful wife Melody, two daughters, Kaya and Lily, his son Sawyer, and a leopard gecko. A little known fact about Dr. Aaron is that he is fluent in Tagalog, a Filipino dialect. In his free time Dr. Aaron enjoys snowboarding, armchair traveling, camping, trail running, target shooting, reading, tinkering with computers, and foremost…spending time with his family.
