Being involved with, and giving back to our communities is part of our mission at Molen Orthodontics. Our clients are our friends, family, and neighbors, so when the privilege to sponsor Elizabeth Enz for the Miss Auburn Outstanding Teen Pageant came up, we jumped at the opportunity.
The Miss Auburn Outstanding Teen Pageant
Before the competition takes place, the contestants have weekly training sessions with Miss Auburn Directors that help them develop life skills such as leadership, interviewing, resumé writing, and poise and presence. The lessons that they learn will help them to succeed in the competition and beyond.
The four points of the pageant crown are service, scholarship, style, and success, which they will be tested on. During the pageant, the contestants are judged on their abilities of interview, talent, fitness and on-stage questioning. Participants must also have a platform that they want to raise awareness for.
Meet Elizabeth Enz
The 2017 Miss Teen Auburn competition will be Elizabeth’s first time as a pageant contestant, but she is no stranger to the program. When Elizabeth was seven-years-old, she joined the Miss Auburn “Little Sisters” program. Then in 2013 Elizabeth’s older sister, Amanda Enz, competed and won this Miss Auburn Outstanding Teen award.
Elizabeth’s older sister and her “big sisters” from the program left a big impression on her. While she was proud of her sister doing so well, she said she was also a little competitive. Both long-time patients at Molen Orthodontics, she remembers after her sister won Dr. Molen hung the pictures on the wall in the office.
“I was jealous of my sister on the walls,” Elizabeth said. “Dr. Molen promised me that if I wore my retainer and won Miss Auburn’s Outstanding Teen, he would put my pictures on the wall, maybe even get rid of hers!”
We at Molen Orthodontics are excited to announce that Elizabeth is the winner of the 2017 Miss Auburn Outstanding Teen, and we can’t wait to hang her pictures on our wall too. For the first time in the history of the competition that two sisters have both won the competition and we are proud to have sponsored both of them.
